Steve Kritzer
Multi-instrumentalist, educator, singer, songwriter.
Steve Kritzer is an internationally recognized musician who has performed at festivals, concerts, wineries and coffee houses throughout the United States and Europe. He’s developed a special passion for the ukulele and has become one of the pre-eminent instructors, jam leaders, and “go to guy” for all things ukulele in the San Francisco Bay Area.
A highly skilled musician on the guitar, mandolin, and banjo, Steve particularly enjoys sharing the joy of jamming and making music with others on the ukulele. He has taught ukulele to everyone from kids to seniors at festivals, jams, schools, and nursing homes. His monthly uke jams at a winery in Livermore regularly draws a crowd of 50 or more.
A growing number of students have gone through his popular adult classes for the City of San Ramon. He is also a regular instructor at numerous music camps and festivals, including California Coast Music Camp, and is board member for Ukes For Schools in Roseville.
“Steve is a terrific ukulele jam leader, and his jam sessions are always well-attended and very popular. He guides the audience through fun songs with helpful learning tips along the way. When Steve is listed among the ukulele jam leaders, everyone in my uke groups makes a point to attend. He has tremendous patience which mixes well with his vast experience and gentle guidance. Steve makes everything seem easy, and I walk away feeling inspired every time.” - Jeffrey Klein
